Acne sufferers face more than one concern. There is of course the constant nuisance of the acne itself. There is also the anxiety caused by the acne scars and lesions which will render the skin an aesthetic disaster. The reason for this is that most people believe that acne is a temporary situation whereas you are stuck with acne scars for the rest of your life.
Undoubtedly there are numerous acne scar treatments in the market today which work quite well. But the downside is there are some types of acne whose scars cannot be eliminated because they run too deep. Therefore you must ensure that no scars form in the first place because you wouldn’t want to take on the emotional and financial burden of dealing with permanent scars.

Hi, I went to consult a dermatologist and after accessing my acne scar, she recommended me microneedling. Many of her patient experienced good results. However, I am still worried of the outcome such as, will I suffer prolonged face swelling? bruises?

I am a 20 year old hispanic male who has had a bad habit of picking at my acne (mainly premature acne), therefore causing brown and dark discoloration and leaving several small to severe scars on my face. I know the best remedy for a scar is time, but i’m young and feel my self confidence is taking a battering due to constant scarring on my face. I am getting out of the habit of touching my face and I am treating the acne with doxycycline and ziana gel. My dermatologist recommends doing a chemical peel that will cost around 300 dollars, I want to do it but am also looking for other options.
ps. the majority of my scars are not deep and fade into my skin within 2 to 3 months, they mostly just make brown spots on my slightly lighter skin
I’ve been off accutane for a few months but now I have a few cystic acne scars on the side of my face from the severe acne I had. What kind of cream could I use or natural supplement could I take to heal the scars, repair the damaged skin or make the cystic acne scars shrink.
Please do not recommend any facial peels, doctor prescription drugs or injections. I’ve had a few shots of cortizone to the scars but with minimal results and I spent alot of $$. I’m currently using over the counter Cicaplast cream which costs me $25 for a small tube.
