Proactiv vs. Equate Acne Treatment System
this is a comparison of practiv and the equate acne treatment system (walmart’s generic version of proactiv) neither of these worked for me but they work really well for a lot of people. so, hopefully you guys will still find this helpful
of course i bought these myself, and these are my honest opinions. i’m not affiliated with any of these companies. i’m not being paid to make this video.

i hated using the gel too! it sucked!
@AMLansing … after i stopped using proactiv, i started using neutrogena fresh foaming cleanser along with cetaphil again, and those two cleared my skin right up
also, i know that there is no cure and that if you find a product that works, you have to keep using it in order for it to keep working. like i said in the video, proactiv works great for a lot of people, it just didn’t work for me.
@AMLansing i wasn’t expecting it to clear up my skin over night. i stopped using proactiv because it burned my skin and made my acne worse. seriously, my face felt like it was on fire so i used it for as long as i could bear it, which was only a couple of weeks. after i made this video, i called proactiv again and spoke with a skin care adviser who told me she thinks i had an allergic reaction to proactiv.
Part 2 of my comment:
Also, there is NO acne cure in the market, they all are solutions which means that once you are started on one and you get rid of all your acne, you still have to keep using it for the long term because its only a solution not a cure.
Your getting it all wrong. There is no acne product out there in the market that will suddenly over night make all or almost all your acne disappear. Proactiv itself and other products can take up to 3-6 to show a major difference, and as i’m watching your video, you said after 2 weeks of trying a product you gave up on it..
@girlishromp thanks, i think i am too! my skin has never been as bad as when i was using it. and yeah it kinda does feel like that, proactive refunded my money but then they charged me again so i’m still waiting for another refund :/
Great review. I am actually allergic to proactive, so I won’t even be trying that
I have looked at the equate version but I probably won’t try it either. That sucks that neither really worked for you. Its kind of like your throwing your money away. That’s why I hate trying new products.
@colleenieness okay
but just one thing i dont trust Guthy Renkers payment because they are like a big scam and its probably late to tell you this but you should of ordered it on qvc dot com and chosen the 19.90 – 90 something lol sorry but yea they do auto shipping or indiviual but for the one that im talking about dosent do individual….. ok so i trust qvc alot better because when they do auto shipping they dont take alot out of my account and if you want to refund theyll refund… and yea
@glitterysweet1 oh okay. i’m about to go back on the nuva ring so maybe that will help. i just started using the fresh foaming cleanser from neutrogena and it’s really helping a lot and it’s not even for acne haha
@mangsanhanha i got the refund probably like 2 or 3 days after i cancelled, and they didn’t make me send the bottles back. i thought i was going to have to but the lady said not to worry about it. one thing that kinda bugged me, though, is they charged me for the 2nd set on the same day they refunded me. the lady on the phone said that might happen and that they would refund me for that too. i’m still waiting for that refund though so i’ll let you know how long it takes them to give it to me
hello im just wondering when you canceled your proactiv triel how did you get the refund instently and dont you have to return the bottles? im just curious because im kinda scared of ordering tv sites that are selling things and im afraid that they might take alot of money out of my account
i used to have really bad acne especially my senior year i was gonna get acutane but i got prego and that itself helped my face clear up and orthrotricycline low really keeps my acne down
@Sunnypad i’ve never heard of those before but i think i might check them out. thank you
To get rid of acne, I use Niapads. Niapads clear up my acne in 2-5 days tops and they hydrate/exfoliate my skin with a lavender fragrance. They’re really easy to use and are compact so you can take them anywhere. I recommend them for oily or dry skin.
@missrachelkaylene thank you!!
great in depth review!
@jessicalee422 thank you! my camera must love me because my skin looks wayyy better in my videos than it does in person lol. i’ve heard good things about murad! i might try it
<3
girl, why are you using those products! haha your skin looks so good! HAHAHA
XOXOOXXO my friend used proactive and it did not work. but then she changed to murad which really worked for her! XOXOO
@colleenieness No it just dried me out a lot which any 3 step system is gonna do. But as long as you use moisturizer then it is fine.
@kikiV222 really? idk i might try it again, but it just really burned my skin. did it burn for you when you first tried it?
I use proactive but let me tell you 2 weeks is not enough to see a difference. I didn’t see a difference with proactive until about 4-6 months. I think you should def give it some time.
