does tanning in the tanning bed cause acne scars to darken or help them disappear?

i am so worried that my acne scars will be affected if i tan in the tanning bed.
i have current pimples that are small that i know will come to the surface due to tanning but what happens to the redness that i have from recent breakouts.??
anyone that has good results or bad please tell me about them. or even some websites with info.

In my experience tanning has always made scars darker. Small scratches or cuts tend to scar and become darker and purple. But on the other hand, anytime i have ever had a pimple, the tanning bed dried it right up, and the pimple never scarred. My advice to you is, that if you have acne scars put a towel on your face, because if they are red now, they may become purple when you tan. But if you just have a pimple it may help clear up your skin.

It really helped with my acne problems, some acne scars did go a little darker but it is so hard to notice! My skin has improved alot over my three months of using a tanning bed. My Advice is to use a stand up one.

Like seolc said that acne does darken overtime and it does helps to loosen blocked pores that cause acne. And, yes make sure your put towel on your face to prevent skin problem.
