The diagnosis of acne is based on the history and physical examination, evidence of lesions characteristics of acne, and age.
Acne does not occur until puberty. The presence of the typical comedones, such as whiteheads and blackheads, along with excessively oily skin is its main characteristic.
Oiliness is more prominent in the midfacial area; other parts of the face may appear dry. When there are numerous lesions, some of which are open, the person may exude a distinct sebaceous odor.

Acne scars are easily recognized by the red skin of an area formerly occupied by a pimple. The initial form, while not actually a scar, will lead to one in some cases. Unfortunately, the only way to know for sure that it is a scar is if the red skin persists for longer than 6-12 months. It is often better, therefor, to treat all acne lesions as potential scars.

Perhaps we will never know – however doctors have turned to technology to remove acne scars rather than treat it with medications.

Key Ingredients:
Vitamin A is important for the prevention of night blindness and other eye problems, as well as some skin disorders, such as acne. It is also important in the formation of bones and teeth. Numerous other benefits include maintenance and repair of epithelial tissue, of which skin and mucous membranes are (1) composed, protection against infections, and antioxidant cell protection.
Vitamin B Complex: Eight different nutrients make up the Vitamin B Complex: Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Pantothenic Acid, Pyridoxine, Cyanocobalamin, Biotin, and Folic Acid. Though grouped as a family, they each perform unique and separate functions, which include enhancing the metabolic rate by breaking down fats, carbohydrates and protein for energy, and maintaining healthy nerves, skin, eyes, hair, liver, and brain function. They are important for heart health and are an effective aid in lowering cholesterol. B-complex vitamins also act as coenzymes, helping enzymes to react (2) chemically with other substances.

In most of the cases acne lesions get cured unnoticed leaving behind a trace of hyperpigmented or reddish marks on the skin. In a true sense these are not acne scars, rather postinflammatory changes initiated by our skin’s natural healing process which takes about 6 to 12 months to bring itself back to its normal healthy state, provided there is no more acne lesions erupted in that region. However, if any pigmentation or disfigurement persists for more than 1 year, it could be considered as an acne scar. Prevention is better than cure—this famous adage is quite relevant to handle postinflammatory changes caused by acne. As soon as you notice the first sign of acne outbreaks take necessary precautionary measures to remove them root and branch. Early stage mild lesions could be healed easily with the help of numerous topical over-the-counter products or home remedies.
