I am a African American female and I am considering having the Fraxel Laser treatment done to my face due to me having severe acne scars. This procedure is quite expensive it cost $1,000 just for one treatment. I was wondering does anyone know of any African American that had this procedure and did it work for them. I really will like to know before I ditch out this kind of money.

FYI : A better treatment for scars is the laser resurfacing of the skin. Similar to the effect of sun exposure, doctors use the concentrated light of the laser beam to burn off a smaller or bigger part of the top layer of the skin. Many dermatologists and cosmetic surgeons recommend this procedure over dermabrasion.
My question is,so since they say the laser resurfacing is similar to the effect of the sun,it means that if we go out and kinda suntan till we get a mild sunburn on our faces,it kinda help peel of thin layer of our skin rite??thus,it will help in a way to level out the ‘holes/pit’ caused by the acne scars??

My acne has cleared up but I have been left with unsightly scars. What has been proven to make these disappear? (Besides laser treatments!)

I also want treatment removal for the acne scars I have? Does anybody know of a procedure in which you can get both done? I have been looking on the internet but it always comes up as two separate treatments.

I tried 4 treatments of the smoothbeam laser and it did not work. I have no money to get the fraxel laser because it is expensive and i am still paying for school. I am 24 and my acne scars has brought down my confidence level a lot. Do you have any home remedies or over the counter medication that works??

Keep in mind im only 16. I started breaking out at the end of sophomore year and my pimple after pimple it left scars. Nothing severe like icepicks or anything. My face is rather smooth but you could tell ive had pimples. There is obviously a darker pigmentation all over my cheeks and chin.
I dont want to have to wear makeup everyday. I had absolutely clear skin about a year ago. And now its just making me really self-conscious. I don’t really have pimples any more just around the time of the month but without my foundation I just have scars all over.
What can I do to make them less visible? I cant really afford that laser treatment to get rid of acne. Ive used this lightening cream to help. But its just made me whiter…
what do i do?! i miss my clear skin

I’m 15 and ive had ance scars on my cheeks for about a year and a half now. I hear mederma works or bio oil, but im not sure if they really work. My face is oily in the t-zone and around my nose and sometimes my chin. Otherwise it’s pretty normal. The scars are little and red and i really want them to disappear without using any laser treatment. Please help!!!
Cocoa butter did not work.

I am interested in anything from chemical peels to laser treatments. I am just tired of my skin and want to do something that works.
