Getting an effective acne remedy is thus recommended as soon as the condition appears, the sooner you start the better. However, it’s important to remember that even if an acne remedy is “natural” it can still be harsh on the skin, and may even have side effects. A popular natural acne remedy is the use of hot and cold wet towel compresses.
Many people are concerned about the possible side effects when it comes to taking prescription drugs or even over-the-counter remedies. Nevertheless, it’s good to keep in mind that the side effects from remedies based on this active ingredient are generally fairly mild (such as drying of the skin or a slight burning sensation).

I’m 17 and a Senior in High School who suffers from “Medium” Acne. I will be attending college in Fall 2008, and I would really like to clear up my Acne once and for all.
I have taken many steps to eliminating my Acne without any drugs, watching my diet, checking if I’m allergic to foods, Washing after playing sports, using Proactive Every Morning and Night. All of these steps have helped Acne, but none of them have gotten rid of it.
It’s something I’ve lived with in my childhood years, and all the boys on my Mom’s side of the family had it. My friends could care less, and it hasn’t affected my social life, but I feel it’s time to move on and have clean skin.

Acne is quite normal, almost every Tom, Dick and Harry gets at least a fraction of it some time in their life history. Acne is one of those situations about which humiliating talks are frequently made.
Surveys show that acne does often cause one to lose self-esteem and is so much agonising. Studies reveal that the earlier acne shows up the likelier it is to be really bad, so the universal idea that acne is an exclusive problem for teenagers is mistaken.

Did you actually think that you had left those nasty zits and acne outbreaks way behind in your teen years? Maybe you are wrong because if you are reading this, you must have a problem. You are an parent to be now and therefore immune to such annoying ordeals as acne. Nevertheless, since you became expecting a baby, you simply cannot help but detect a brand new zit showing up pretty much daily on your once crystal clear skin. Not merely are you concerned about these pimples, but also about the chance of acne scarring.
Growing Up
Because confront it, you didn’t enjoy having zits as a adolescent and you surely don’t delight in it now. While a face full of pimples might have you running for the acne remedy, rest assured that an estimated 50% of adult women encounter adult acne challenges at some stage in their lives. You can also take comfort in the fact that encountering frequent breakouts during pregnancy is not only totally normal, but also common.

for 3-6 months? I just got off of accutane about a month ago but now I have these scars left. I’m trying a scar gel, just started today. Is this a good idea? I will see my dermatologist again this Thursday, should I ask for Retin-A instead, will that work better? I’ve tried TCA and Jesners’ Peel and it seems to make my scars look worse. But I’ve been using this ponds facial cloth and it has retinol and collagen and it makes my scars look better. I use primer and foundation to cover them up but I’d like to better their appearance so that I can feel more confident wearing less makeup, that’s really my end goal. I’m thinking if I use the scar gel as directed and maybe Retin-A as well, that might work? I’ve tried microdermasion about 3 times in the past as well and didn’t seem to make much difference in my opinion. I’ve also tried dermarolling 6x and that didn’t work for longer than like a day after doing so and I used the 1.5mm rollers. Thanks.
I no longer have acne after taking accutane, just the scars they have left behind. I haven’t had a breakout in almost 7 months. Which, to me, is a miracle in and of itself.

My dermatologist told me and my mom about accutane and how really good it will do for acne. He also told us that he used it and his daugther used it too. But Im just worried about the side effects. I can sort of handle the acne but the only thing I hate about my skin is the scars because i was naive and I picked on my pimples (i know thats so bad, i dont do that anymore.) So please if you have any advice please tell me my mom and i are a little too worried.
The Side Effects Im Worried About:
Joint Pains (I have P.E. so I dont want to hurt when im running)
Dry Lips
Depression

It’s no coincidence that one of the late Michael Jackson’s close friends was his long-time dermatologist, Dr. Arnold Klein. “Boy, I used to suffer,” Jackson once confessed to an interviewer, talking about his acne. “It got bad. It got real bad.” Jackson remembered regularly hiding in his bedroom to cry after being teased by a cousin about his “pimples”. Despite his success, Jackson found it difficult to face the public much of his life, often wearing hats and keeping his head down. “You can clear up physically,” he explained, but still mentally you’re scarred.” After Jackson’s death, Dr. Klein told interviewer Larry King that he had been helping the star “rebuild his face” to hide the severe acne scarring and plastic surgery scars in preparation for his upcoming This Is It tour.
Most of us suffer the occasional break out or blemish, even as adults. The average acne can be treated with over-the-counter medications, but acne like Jackson’s calls for prescription acne medication. The best acne medication on the market today for moderate to severe acne that has not responded to other treatment is Accutane.
