This is the results of my maca experiment. I tried taking maca to clear my hormonal acne …there was both good and bad news.

Sugar and other carbs will really wack out your hormones. I concur with the previous poster about needing adequate vitamin D. A low dose is 1,000 IU a day, an ideal dose is between 3,000 and 7,000 IU.

I ate a raw vegan diet for a whole year and still had bad acne. Now i’m more on the “Body Ecology Diet” by Donna Gates. NO fruit, no sugars and within one week my acne cleared up AND get this (first time in 15 years) my pores have shrunk, my black-heads and white-heads are GONE. Yeah, sugar is the culprit but even too much fruit sugars are bad. If i do have a fruit it’s a sour fruit that is low in sugar. Grapefruit, lemon or lime squeezed in water, granny smith apple.

You can eat grains and flours that have been fermented or sprouted (sour dough bread) which removes many of the inherent anti nutrients associated with them such as phytic acid which blocks the absorption of minerals. Refined sugars will cause an imbalance in your gut flora which is the key to good health overall. Hi. Your acne problem is easy to solve. Maybe. I say that because you have to change your modern, industrial diet to a cave man diet. Yes I said cave man or a more primitive diet. In order to do that you must stop eating all processed foods such as; refined grains, sugars and vegetable oils. This means no bread, pasta, sugar and vegetable oils such as soy oil, corn oil, canola etc. Also, avoid soy products like the plague unless they are traditionally fermented like tamari, tempeh, nato and miso

But I felt pretty good overall

Hi, I have been using Maca for a few weeks now, and it has cleared my skin up beautifully, I did get a couple of spots when my cycle began, but not as bad as usual. My skin is less oily too. Sorry to hear you had bad effects from taking it.

Hey, I am a holistic nutritionist in , I am also fair skinned with strawberry hair. I am pitta, high heat, and have suffered form cystic acne for a few years on and off myself. Cooling foods like chlorophyll and other blue green algae have helped alot. What I have found has helped clear up my skin is removing dairy and gluten. I am sensitive to these foods and eating them puts stress on my body witch then effects my cortisol levels which in turn has resulted in hormonal imbalances.

Hopefully you will reply but you said getting cystic acne on your jawline is from Hormonal Imbalance acne, now what if you get cystic acne on your cheeks?
