A 1 shot 1,000$ + solution to facial scarring/acne?
Hello,
I’m curious – I have mild acne, oily skin, and the likes.
I have blemishes, and minor scarring.
Couple days ago I did and 18% TCA peel (from M.A.C), and just in case all goes wrong, or I don’t get the results I want… is there a recommended expensive treatment, like from a plastic surgery or dermatologist clinic that could remove minor scars (maybe one deeper ice pick one) in one shot?
It can cost 1-2000$, any of you ever tried anything in that area of cost?

You are going to have to do more than one peel to get any results. Most professional treatments for scarring require a series of six to eight treatments, whether it be peels or microdermabrasion or any other non-medical treatment. Non-medical procedures can eventually obtain the same results, but require more treatments. Your skin did not incur scarring overnight, and remedies take patience and time.
Microderabrasion treatments can be effective for reducing scars. Basically, peels and microderm do the same thing: they both remove the top layers of the epidermis. Dermabrasion is a surgical procedure and is much more aggressive than “micro”-dermabrasion. It requires varying degrees of downtime and healing fully from the procedure can take up to a year. This is usually saved for people with severe ice pick scarring.
One thing to consider with peels and microdermabrasion is that a scar on the surface of your skin may have a smaller opening on the surface than below the surface. Once the surface skin is peeled off, the opening can and sometimes does appear larger. This is where patience comes in handy. Continuing with treatments may eventually help to flatten out the scar to make it less visible. Some people require a few series of treatments to achieve their desired results. Between series, it is important to let the skin fully recover. It is imperative to stay out of the sun for at least two weeks after a microdermabrasion treatment or peel since exposure will almost always lead to hyperpigmentation (dark spots, sun spots). Plan your treatment series when you will not have the temptation of going to the beach, lake or outside to your garden.
There are also laser treatments available, but I have no direct experience with them.
There is a super effective microdermabrasion product for home use that can be used up to three times per week. It is, in my opinion, as effective as machine microdermabrasion, when the directions are followed correctly. I have provided the link below.
I hope this helps. Good luck!
