Does anyone know what causes acne scars? Is it genetics, or something else? I started getting acne scars when i turned 19. I went through depression and a lot stress during that age. Due to the emotional stress I was going through, I started breaking out in pimples all over again. I had pimples and zits in the past, but this time it left me with scars. The scars are dark red and scattered on my cheeks and temple. Also, my face seems to be much oilier than ever before. I am 21 years old now and stressing out over acne scars and oily skin. Any advice on treating acne scars? How do I even out the discoloration of the scars? Please help!!
